On Tuesday 7 December, the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation is hosting the 2010 Innovation Lecture. The historic Knight’s Hall (Ridderzaal) in The Hague forms the unique setting for this annual event, which highlights the importance of innovation for a sustainable and enterprising Netherlands.

The theme of the 10th Annual Innovation Lecture is the 'Asian Challenge'. In recent years, innovation has taken off in China, India, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Malaysia, and Taiwan. What can we learn from these countries' approaches to innovation and how can we make the most of Asia's innovative developments?

Two inspiring international figures will be speaking: Professor Yoko Ishikura from Japan will cover the challenges Asia presents to innovative parties in the Netherlands from a scientific perspective. Businessman Sam Pitroda from India will outline the importance of these developments for businesses.

Annet van Egmond is attending this event and participating to the discussion as a Committee Member. BRAND VAN EGMOND's Lighting Objects can already be found in several boutiques and showrooms in Shanghai and Beijing. Our Asian Challenge is to find good distributors in new areas such as Japan, Vietnam, and India.

At the end of October, BRAND VAN EGMOND will have a special exhibition at the Meesterlijk Design and Craft Fair in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. The passion William and Annet share for both handcrafted sculptures and design will form the central theme of this presentation.
The Meesterlijk Design and Craft Fair is part of the Dutch Design week in Eindhoven.

On Saturday the 30th of October (14.00 - 15.00) Annet van Egmond and initiator Nicole Uniquole will give a lecture about craft and design in the Netherlands in de Kleine Zaal (Klokgebouw 50, Hal 4 - entresol, Eindhoven, NL).
The fair strives to strengthen the bond between modern design and craftsmanship. At the fair designers and manufacturers of handmade products will be standing shoulder to shoulder with the practitioners of traditional crafts, such as glassblowing and woodcarving.

The presentation of our newest lighting sculptures at the Light & Building Fair in Frankfurt and at Superstudio Più in Milan 2010 again was a big success!

The new Digital Dreams series inspired visitors in showing their own projects, products and dreams... Also, the new items of the fashionable 'Coco' and the 'La Vie en Rose' again captured the imagination.

We were honoured to celebrate our 20th anniversary with you!

On April 11th until April 16th 2010 the world’s leading trade fair for Architecture and Technology, Light + Building, will be held once again. BRAND VAN EGMOND will be present on this fair with the newest collection and the new art book called Lighting Sculptures. We hope to see you there!

The Moma Museum Bookstore in New York, US, is proud to sell the first personal album Lighting Sculptures by BRAND VAN EGMOND.

Annet van Egmond has designed a new wallcovering collection called Shadows on the Wall for the Dutch company BN International. For them she worked as an artdirector designing the new wallcovering collection. BN International has presented this new collection at the Heimtextil trade fair 2010 in Frankfurt, from January 13th until January 16th. During this fair, the new collection has been shown to the public for the first time.
